The 2018 Summer Institute will be hosted by the Williams Unified School District, Williams, CA. The five-day event is a Model Teaching Week designed for teachers grades 3rd through 6th.
The Model Teaching Week format is a powerful introduction to the Highly Effective Teaching (HET) model and the use of neuroscience to inform instructional practices and to develop conceptual curriculum that is standards-based, integrated, action/project-focused, and made relevant to students' lives by anchoring it in being there locations that students experience in their daily lives. The schedule will include instruction on the Highly Effective Teaching (HET) Model, daily classroom observations, personal work time, and individualized feedback.
CFPE staff includes Dean Tannewitz, teacher of teachers, and Olga de Santa Anna, teacher of students.

REGISTRATION FEE is $595, which includes workshops, classroom visitations, materials, catered lunch, snacks, and a copy of Your Personal Guide to Implementing HET in the Classroom. Participants are expected to bring a copy of Exceeding Expectations: User's Guide to Implementing Brain Research in the Classroom (available through Books for Educators, Books4Educ.com).
For those choosing to eat lunch off campus, the registration fee is $495.
Please note that space is limited (currently there are only 10 slots available) and registrations will be accepted on a first come, first served basis. We strongly recommend you register as soon as possible in order to hold your seat at this unique opportunity for professional growth.
Who should attend? This event is specifically designed for teachers and principals but also highly appropriate for administrators at every level, leadership teams, curriculum developers, specialists, board members, support staff, and parent representatives. Work and discussion groups will be formed for like groups.
